SUMMARY:Emancipation Celebration
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, 16th August 2026\, the Country Director of Global Peace Chain Guyana Chapter\, Alex Dane Fraser\, participated in the vibrant celebration commemorating 188 years of Emancipation. The event was hosted by the Haslington to Chapman Grove Emancipation Committee and brought together community members\, leaders\, and distinguished guests to reflect on the significance of emancipation and its enduring impact on Guyanese society. \nThe celebration provided an opportunity to honour the resilience\, struggles\, and achievements of ancestors while promoting unity\, cultural pride\, and social development. Among the distinguished attendees were Hon. Zulfikar Ally\, Minister of Public Service\, Government Efficiency & Implementation; Hon. Dr. Frank Anthony\, Minister of Health; and Mr. Alfred King\, Permanent Secretary\, Office of the Prime Minister. \nThe participation of Global Peace Chain Guyana Chapter demonstrated its continued commitment to supporting initiatives that promote peace\, equality\, cultural awareness\, and community empowerment. The event was a meaningful reminder of the importance of preserving our history while working collectively toward a more inclusive and harmonious Guyana.
