July 15 @ 8:00 am - July 16 @ 5:00 pm

Training on Human Trafficking Safety & Reporting Systems Training

The Global Peace Chain Guyana Chapter is proud to announce the successful completion of a two-day training on Safety as it Relates to Human Trafficking and Reporting Systems, held on 15th and 16th July 2026 at the Police Training College, in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The training was facilitated by Country Director, Alex Dane Fraser, and brought together participants to strengthen their understanding of human trafficking, improve awareness of personal and community safety, and enhance knowledge of effective reporting mechanisms.

Over the two days, participants explored critical topics, including:

  • Understanding the forms and indicators of human trafficking.
  • Recognizing individuals and communities at greater risk.
  • Personal and community safety strategies to prevent exploitation.
  • The importance of timely reporting and coordinated response systems.
  • The role of law enforcement, government agencies, civil society, and community members in combating trafficking in persons.
  • Promoting a victim-centred, rights-based approach to supporting survivors.

The high level of engagement, thoughtful discussions, and commitment demonstrated by participants reflected a shared determination to strengthen Guyana’s efforts to prevent human trafficking and protect vulnerable individuals.

The Global Peace Chain Guyana Chapter extends its sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Home Affairs for its valued collaboration, the Police Training College for hosting the programme, and every participant for their dedication to learning and serving their communities.

Together, through education, partnership, and vigilance, we can create safer communities, strengthen reporting systems, and contribute to the prevention of human trafficking across Guyana.

“Awareness Saves Lives. Reporting Protects Communities. Together, We Can End Human Trafficking.”
